【历史的印记】
水洞沟是中国最早发现的旧石器时代文化遗址，也是中国保存最完整的长城立体军事防御体系。水洞沟距首府银川19公里，距机场和高铁站11公里，号称“宁夏旅游的第一站”！
1923年，法国考古学家德日进和桑志华住进了水洞沟附近的一家车马店，当晚就看到对面崖壁有磷光闪现，他们就此展开发掘，挖掘出了大量石器和动物化石。5年后，他们发表了震惊世界的研究报告：“水洞沟遗址的发现，推翻了中国没有旧石器时代的错误论断。”水洞沟成为了中国史前考古的发祥地。
【现代的发展】
四万年很久远，但今天的水洞沟您似乎可以伸手触摸。走进水洞沟遗址博物馆，图片、雕塑、实景与高科技完美融合，寓教于乐。博物馆最具创意的是沉浸式体验区，通过声、光、电、幻影成像以及模拟地震平台生动地再现了四万年前水洞沟人的生产、生活和灾难场景。
四万年前的旧石器文化与五百年前的长城文化在这里交相呼应。
漫步水洞沟村，远古人生活演绎让您瞬间穿越；站在烽火台上，将军点将的盟誓，让您热血沸腾；乘船游览在水岸长城恍如隔世；坐着马车、驼车，穿梭于红柳丛中，赶车师傅悠扬的歌声在峡谷间绵延回荡；不经意间还能邂逅远古就有的鸵鸟和驯鹿，这一切让人恍然有了穿越时空的感觉。
穿越到500多年前，明代人为了抵御鞑靼、瓦剌等部落的侵扰，沿边界夯筑长城、修建城堡、挖掘地下藏兵洞，形成地上地下立体军事防御体系。
藏兵洞修建于大峡谷两侧的崖壁之中，洞内机关密布、陷阱林立，并设有居室、兵器库、灶台、炮台、瞭望台等设施，洞道上下相通，左右相连，犹如迷宫。藏兵洞一头连着红山堡，一头通往城外，形成了内外相通、左右逢源、易守难攻的军事堡垒。

历史在这里流淌！科学和人文在这里交融！
这里是中科院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所宁夏工作站，是考古学和地质学的科考基地和人才培养的田野学校，一批批专家和学者从这里走出；这里是全国中小学生研学基地和露天课堂，每年有数十万的学生参与到模拟考古、夯筑长城等研学项目。
文化和旅游在这里融合！
以远古水洞沟家族的神话故事打造的《天降神石》VR游戏、动漫画册及系列文创产品，能让您更好地了解水洞沟文化。
2017年，水洞沟着力打造的大型马战史诗剧《北疆天歌》，以长城、峡谷、城堡等古代立体军事防御体系为实景演出场地，将马战、马戏及北方游牧民族的风土、民情等多元素融于一剧，生动再现了历史上西夏的传奇故事。

40000 years of civilization,a military fortress for 500 years.Hello everyone! I'm Liu Yonghong, President of Ningxia Shuidonggou Tourism Development Co., Ltd.I'm very happy to take you through time and space,feel the mysterious and heavy Shuidonggou, a national 5A tourist attraction.
[The mark of history]
Shuidonggou is the earliest Paleolithic cultural site in China,it is also the most complete three-dimensional military defense system of the Great Wall in China.Shuidonggou is 19 kilometers away from the capital Yinchuan, and 11 kilometers away from the airport and high-speed railway station,which is known as ‘the first stop of Ningxia tourism’!
In 1923, French archaeologists De Rijin and Sang Zhihua lived in a hotel near Shuidonggou,that night, they saw phosphorescence flash on the opposite cliff,so they started digging,excavated a large number of stone tools and animal fossils.Five years later, they published the research which shocked the world.‘The discovery of Shuidonggou site,overturns the wrong conclusion that there is no Paleolithic age in China.’Shuidonggou has become the birthplace of Chinese prehistoric archaeology.
[The merge of times]
Forty thousand years is remote,but today's Shuidonggou seems that you can reach out and touch it.Walking into Shuidonggou site museum,pictures, sculptures, real scenes and high-tech are perfectly integrated, with education in entertainment.The most creative part of the museum is the immersive experience area,through acoustic, optical, electrical, phantom imaging and seismic simulation platform vividly reproduces the production, life and disaster scenes of Shuidonggou people 40000 years ago.
The Paleolithic culture of 40000 years ago echoes with the Great Wall culture of 500 years ago.
Walking in Shuidonggou village,the life of ancient people let you pass through in a moment.Standing on the beacon tower,the swore of general makes you hot and bloody.It is like a passing day to visit the Great Wall on the shore by boat.Riding in a carriage, a camel, and shuttling through the willows,the driver's melodious singing reverberated among the canyons.You can meet some ostrich and reindeer from ancient times,all of these make people feel like they are crossing time and space.
Back to more than 500 years ago,in order to resist the invasion of Tatar and Wala tribes in Ming Dynasty,along the border, the Great Wall, the castle and the underground soldier hole are excavated,the formation of the underground and above ground three-dimensional military defense system.
The Cangbing Cave is built in the cliffs on both sides of the Grand Canyon,the gears in the cave are densely distributed and traps are everywhere,it also has the bedroom, weapon storehouse, stove, artillery, lookout platform and other facilities,The tunnel is connected up and down, connected to the left and right, like a maze.The cave is connected with Hongshanbao at one end, and the other leads to the outside of the city,It has formed a military fortress with internal and external communication, seeking for the right and left, and being easy to defend and difficult to attack.

This is Ningxia workstation of Institute of Paleovertebrate and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences,it is the scientific research base and field school for personnel training of Archaeology and geology,a group of experts and scholars came out of here.This is the national primary and secondary school students research base and open-air classroom,Hundreds of thousands of students participate in research projects such as simulating archaeology, ramming the great wall and so on.

VR games, animation albums and series of cultural and creative products of ‘Tianjiang Shenshi’ created by the myth of the ancient Shuidonggou family,it can help you to understand the culture of Shuidonggou better.
In 2017, Shuidonggou made great efforts to build a large horse war epic drama ‘Beijiang Tiange’,the three-dimensional military defense system of the Great Wall, canyon and castle is used as the real scene performance site,the horse war, horse play and the customs of nomadic people in the north are integrated into one play,it vividly reappears the legend of Xixia in history.
