石首是一座滨江生态城市。石首，跨江而治，坐拥90.3公里长江双岸线和三个长江故道群，芦苇飘荡，渔舟唱晚，是长江中下游不可多得的水乡原生态福地、宝地。当前，石首正在全力打造长江流域生态文化和长江大保护石首先行试验示范区。
石首是一座开放活力之城。石首是鄂南湘北交通、物流集散中心，“公铁水空”立体化对外交通优势正在凸显。石首是一座充满希望的城市，全球最大的精细化工生产基地，全国最大的建筑防水材料生产基地是她的“底色”，、中国江豚之乡、全国科技、文化、农业、绿化先进市和国家园林城市等一系列金字招牌是她的“容颜”，随着石首铁路经济、航空经济、港口经济的陆续到来，石首将迎来经济绿色转型、高质量发展的新纪元。

Hello everyone. My name is SHI Bicheng, I am the Mayor of Shishou City, Hubei Province, and It’s my pleasure to introduce our city, the bright pearl of South of Hubei Province, to you.
Shishou is a county with more than one thousand and eight hundred years’ history， which endows her with graceful and solemn, also with rich historical memory. From the ancient Qujialing and Chu cultures, to the modern red culture and wetland culture, the culture context was passed down generation to generation.
Shishou is a riverside eco-city. There are 90.3 kilometers of Yangtze River’s shorelines and three old waterways in Shishou, where you can see the reeds swaying in the wind, and the fishing boat drifting in the sunset. It is really a treasure place of Middle and lower Yangtze River. Shishou now makes all her effort to build an eco-culture demonstration zone in Yangtze River basin in protecting ecology of the Yangtze.
Shishou is a city with open and vibrant spirit, which is also the transportation and logistics center of south Hubei province and north Hunan province. Nowadays the three-dimensional transport network integrating railways, highways, waterways and aviation highlights great advantages. Shishou is a promising city; it has the biggest fine chemical product base of the world as well as the largest building waterproof materials production center in China. In addition, She has many city cards like the Hometown of Chinese elk，the Hometown of Chinese finless porpoise, one of the country’s most advanced cities in technology、 culture and agriculture， National garden city etc. Along with the coming of Shishou railway transport economy, aviation economy and port economy, Shishou is entering a new era of reforming to green economy.
