【文化底蕴深厚】
和田南枕“万山之祖”的巍巍昆仑，北卧世界第二大流动沙漠—塔克拉玛干大沙漠。在这里，一半玉立神山，一半妖娆盆地，山川、河流、沙漠、绿洲自然地融合在了一起。
闻名于世的和田玉，在昆仑山孕育，经和田河锻造，深藏于昆仑山大漠之中。它自然形成的过程成就了和田独有的文化气质。
和田，古称于阗，是古代西域四大文明交流的枢纽。著名的精绝国故地---尼雅遗址，被中外考古学家誉为“东方的庞贝”；出土于尼雅遗址的国宝级文物“五星出东方利中国”汉代织锦护膊，是20世纪中国考古最伟大的发现之一。
【特种旅游目的地】
相传，在塔克拉玛干大沙漠腹地，埋藏着丝绸之路曾留下的无尽宝藏，这也使和田成为近百年来，东西方探险家魂牵梦绕的神秘之境。沿着克里雅河，进入塔克拉玛干大沙漠，这里有一群逐水而居的沙漠最后守望者，也就是即将消失的原始古村落—达里雅博依。
数千年玉石文化与“昆仑天路特种旅游线”的惊喜相遇而更加浑厚。穿越昆仑山的“进藏第九线特种旅游线”，将新疆和西藏联通在了一起。走进和田，就走向了神秘的开端，踏上了远方的天路。

和田是新疆独具特色的美食名片。烤全羊、烤包子、烤鹅蛋、酸奶粽子等上百种地域美食，让“和田夜市”成为了旅游品牌和网红打卡地。
