Hello, everyone, I am the Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nagqu Municipal Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region, Secretary of Baqing County Party Committee，Zhang Jun. I am pleased to introduce you Baqing. Baqing County is the Dongdaemun of northern Tibet. Tanggula Mountains extend across the north. The Bujia Snow Mountain has been rolling since ancient times. The beaf and lamb from the Baqing Meadow are fatty and savory. There is the Yuexiong Glacier rare in the world. There are the Quartz Forest Hills at the highest altitude in the world as well. There is the highest Menmo Karst Cave. Here it is the cradle of Dangqu River from the south source of the Changjiang River. It is the significant cradle，Songqu and Muqu of Lancang River. It is even the significant cradle, Suoqu and Yiqu of Nu River. It is indeed the origin of three rivers and also the bright pearl on the Qiangtang Meadow of northern Tibet.

 

The “Chi Dui Dong Xiong” black tent showcases the folk style of nomads

Baqing in Tibetan means ox hair tent. Tradition has it that historically the house of chieftain from Baqing tribe was built in a gigantic black ox hair tent. It is so called the“Chi Dui Dong Xiong”black tent. It means high capacity. It has more than 300 years of history till now. The unique folk style of the black ox hair tent has merged with Baqing Culture. It has become the name card of the tourism at Baqing County. In 2016, Baqing County built a “Chi Dui Dong Xiong” black tent. It had an area of over 10 thousand square meters. It is currently the world largest black tent among the same kinds.

 

Chinese caterpillar fungus, Rare and Treasured Taste from Baqing

Chinese caterpillar fungus is in Tibet. Tibetan caterpillar fungus is in Nagqu. Nagqu’s caterpillar fungus is in Baqing. Baqing County is the core production area and key control area of caterpillar fungus. The picking time of caterpillar fungus is later than other areas in comparison. Baqing caterpillar fungus is strong in physiological property. It is high in medicinal value, rich in active substances, big in size, colored with bright yellow, Fungus seat is short and small. It is non-polluted and acknowledged in the world as the caterpillar fungus in highest quality. On February 14, 2020, Baqing caterpillar fungus received the Geographical Indication Certification Trademark which was awarded by China National Intellectual Property Administration. According to historical experience, the annual output of Baqing caterpillar fungus is only 4000 - 6000kg, so called the rarest treasure. Baqing County only has animal husbandry industry. What Baqing yaks are eating is the caterpillar fungus. What they drink is the mineral water. The yak meat tastes fresh and delicious. It contains high-quality protein and a full range of amino acids. It is high in calories and low in fat. The yak meat produced under the natural rearing condition has a distinctive taste and good quality. Its quality is better than the products of the same category but different in livestock species. Therefore, it was praised as the top-ranked beef, the gem on the plateau.
