梅里斯是达斡尔语“有冰的地方”。梅里斯达斡尔族区是全国唯一的市辖达斡尔族区，素有“中国洋葱之乡、中国甜瓜之乡、中国菇娘之乡”之称，是国家级出口食品农产品质量安全示范区，全国民族团结进步创建活动示范单位。
民族文化渊远流长
这里民族文化渊远流长。达斡尔族是嫩江流域文明的最早开发者，梅里斯是齐齐哈尔城的发源地，和齐齐哈尔市的发展史紧密相联，“齐齐哈尔”作为城市名就是达斡尔语的音译，“风刮卜奎”的传说流传至今。达斡尔族神话传说、民间故事、说唱“乌钦”、民族歌舞扎恩德勒和哈库麦，已被列为国家非物质文化遗产保护名录。
生态资源得天独厚
这里生态资源得天独厚。梅里斯地处优质黑土带，辽阔的松嫩平原西部。地势平坦，土质肥沃，无工业污染，重金属、农残等各项指标均低于国家标准下限，原始生态保持良好。这里水资源极其丰富，境内有嫩江、音河、阿伦河、二沟河等“一江三河”，同时地下水呈天然弱碱性，甘甜怡人。梅里斯四季分明，凉爽宜人，空气清新，来到这里，您可以策马奔腾在辽阔的黑土地，在蓝天白云下，共赴一场与草原的约会。

这里区位优势十分明显。梅里斯与齐齐哈尔市主城区隔江相望，直线距离4公里，有南北三座大桥相连。301国道、302省道贯穿全境，公路1小时经济圈可覆盖齐齐哈尔7区3县，铁路3小时经济圈可覆盖黑龙江省哈尔滨、大庆，吉林西部、内蒙东部地区，民航可达北上广深，同时这里还可直通黑河、满洲里、绥芬河等对俄口岸。外联通道丰富，交通便利快捷。

这里绿色食品加工产业聚集，齐齐哈尔国家高新区梅里斯产业园，已完善“七通一平”基础设施，已入驻蔬菜加工、中药饮片、肉食品加工等规模企业13家，亚洲最大大豆蛋白生产线入驻园区，发展潜力巨大。

Beautiful Meilisi,charming Daur.Hello everyone,I'm Wang Jingxi, the head of meilisdaur District People's Government of Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province,It's my pleasure to introduce you to Meilisi, the beautiful village on the 47 °north latitude line.
Meilisi is a Daur word for‘where there is ice’,Meilisi Daur district is the only Daur district under the jurisdiction of the city in China,it is known as ‘the hometown of onion, melon and mushroom in China’,it is a national demonstration area for the quality and safety of exported food and agricultural products and a demonstration unit for national unity and progress.
National Culture with a Long History
The national culture here has a long history.Daur nationality is the earliest developer of Nenjiang River civilization,Meilisi is the birthplace of Qiqihar city,which is closely related to the development history of Qiqihar city,Qiqihar, as a city name, is a transliteration of Daur,the legend of "wind blows bukui" has been handed down to this day.Daur myths and legends, folktales, storytelling and singing‘Wuqin’, national song and dance Zaender and Hakumai have been listed in the national intangible cultural heritage protection list.
Unique Ecological Resources
