琼中作为中国首批国家级生态保护与建设示范区，森林覆盖率达85%以上，森林中蕴含高达28%的负氧离子，昌化江、南渡江、万泉河发源于此，五指山、黎母山、吊罗山、鹦哥岭鼎足屹立，素有“海南肺肾、三江之源、黎苗家园”之美称，先后获得全国生态文明建设典范城市、中国生态魅力县等殊荣，是一座宜居宜游宜业、养眼养生养心的康养福地。
